Our Senior Men’s Program

Established in 1962, Highett West Cricket Club (HWCC) has a proud and long-standing tradition of competitive local cricket. As part of the South East Cricket Association (SECA), the Burra’s continue to provide a strong, welcoming environment for cricketers of all levels.

Competition

HWCC competes in the SECA senior men’s competition, offering both two-day and one-day cricket formats. We cater to a broad mix of players - from experienced cricketers to developing talent - all while fostering a strong club culture both on and off the field.

Teams

1st XI – SECA Quiney Shield (2 Day & 1 Day)
2nd XI – SECA F Grade (2 Day & 1 Day)
3rd XI – SECA M Grade (1 Day)

Values & Opportunity

With back-to-back 1st XI premierships, HWCC continues to build a culture around success, effort, and inclusion. Our selection panel rewards performance and commitment - and those who show up, train hard, and contribute positively are highly valued across all levels.

Training

Senior training is held at Peterson Street Reserve, Highett, on Thursday nights from 5:00pm – 7:00pm, weather permitting. All current and prospective players are encouraged to attend.

Registrations

It is now a requirement that all players must be registered via PlayHQ to participate in the season. New players or returning members with questions can reach out via hwccsecretary@yahoo.com.au.

Facilities

Our home ground at Peterson Street Reserve isn’t just great for cricket - it was even featured on the AFL’s Instagram as one of the best spots to watch local footy (we agree).
With a quality wicket, well-kept outfield, and a lively community vibe, it’s the perfect place to play and watch cricket.
